It might be worth my time to talk about the workers' union struggles and their relationship to chinese immigrantts. Know for a fact that the unions that were fighting for better working conditions hated the chinese immigrants that came to work in America. Discussing the their relationships would be an interesting endevour. Another topic that might be worth my while would be to talk about the conception of wild parks in the midwest and why they were created.
1.)Who were these chinese immigrants?
2.)Why did these immigrants come for work in the United States?
3.)What are the sort of things that the Unions did to Chinese immigrants?
4.)Why was the idea of creating national parks accepted in the first place?
5.)Who would argue against the conception of parks?
6.)Was the national parks idea considered good or bad in the eyes of the people?
I also found the subject on the national parks movement of great interest. With regards to your questions, I think the parks were created chiefly for the purpose of preserving the wilderness, promoting commerce and enterprise, and providing recreational activities for people.
In response to the next question, I think it would be hard to find someone who argued against the creation of national parks because they provided recreation, profit, tourism, & they preserved the land. Because of the reasons stated above and many otheres, I think "the people" considered the parks movement a good idea.
Thanks for posting on this subject! It's good to see someone else giving it some attention.
